In these times of uncertainty, internet visibility is key. Not everyone has a professional camera or high speed webcam, so how do you stay relevant? And by relevant... I mean paid. This workshop will be an exercise in filming with what you have, finding your aesthetic, and how to make a moodboard. Get ready to find your angles baby! Your art is valid, and your anxieties can go fuck themselves.

Dominique Wakeland (they/them) was born on unceded Kwantlen territory and is a graduate of Simon Fraser University’s Theatre Performance program. Dom is a poet/ Drag artist/ and theatre creator. Their practice is fundamentally movement and text based with an emphasis on the politics we bring in our bodies and how that manifests into knowledge. Their drag persona Mx. Bukuru is "the church being your mama never wanted you to meet." Subverting colonial ideas of Blackness, Mx. blends fierce performance with fiercer politics. Every month is Black History Month baby!
