Volunteer with us!
At Open Space, our success is based on the generosity and support of our volunteers. Having only three permanent staff members, we could not complete our dynamic artistic programming without the help of our many supportive volunteers. In 2014, our volunteers contributed the equivalent of $29,496 in 1599.25 hours, which is the equivalent of a full-time gallery assistant.

The variety of volunteer opportunities leaves something for everyone, and has allowed me to develop various skills. I’ve had the chance to participate in gallery installation, assist with special events on and off site, and archival work. There always seems to be new ways to get involved, and I feel grateful especially for the experiences where I could be part of truly forward-thinking and enlightening initiatives.”
Events and Openings Assistance
Aid the set up, take down, and the tending of bar for performances, while listening to music performances, literary readings, or artist’s talks.
Technical Assistance
Contribute your expertise in audio, art installation, lighting, painting, and striking exhibitions.
Volunteer Coordinator
Help schedule and organize fellow volunteers, as well as assisting with event planning for a volunteer thank you party.
Clerical Assistance
Have a knack for filing, phoning, mailing, or data entry? We have an abundance of tasks to keep you busy.
