Membership is one of the many ways to participate in and support Open Space. There are tons of perks to being a member, and we love working with members to foster community and provide meaningful opportunities to engage in the arts in Victoria.

The Building Open Space design is blue, screen-printed on one side, and features blueprints from the Open Space access renovations. The second design is a rendition of an oil tank that was unearthed during the initial site dig during the renovations.

The oil tank is a common artifact in older commercial buildings and its presence seems to confirm stories that we have learned of past uses of the space. One visitor had recently shared the memory of the smell of diesel and whale fat that used to fill the air back when the space was used to service marine engines. This anecdote gives some provenance to the existing oil tank and we will look into this story further so that it can be recorded as an interesting part of the building's history, and added to the ongoing story of the space.

New Cyanotype Prints

All the printed postcards are images from Open Space’s project development, that were later processed as cyanotypes.

The bright blue cyanotype process was developed in 1842, and the most common use of the process occurred between 1890 and the present, when it was used for producing copies of architectural and engineering drawings, or blueprints.
